some samples for my FMP ....

small samples trying different techniques to see what colours and fabrics work together ......

These samples have really helped me choose which path  plan to take with my final designs. I really like this bottom pattern but as this was only a sample I plan to change the colours to grey and black using a metallic thread to make it stand out. I am still producing some samples at the moment trying to gather as many samples as possible before starting my final pieces. After originally wanting to create t-shirts for girls I have changed this totally and have decided designing t-shirts for boys is a much better option as there seems to be a gap in the market for something contemporary and crisp. I want my designs to be unique and interesting with a lot of texture. Through producing lots of samples this will help finalise my ideas for my end products. I think the large stitch doesn't work and defiantly needs to be changed to something more thoughtful and my colour palette defiantly needs more pulling together. I really liked the vinyl print I produced which is the third image down as was planning to take this into my final products but after thinking about how I want my t-shirts to look like a collection I dont think this print will work with what ideas I have for the other final designs. I think at the beginning of producing these samples I wasn't really interested and thinking about the actual final designs enough and I feel this shows in my work. The standard of work is not what I hoped it would be so I have carefully put together more samples which I feel are all at a high standard level of design.
