Final products...

This is my first final design for my collection of boys t-shirts.

I used a plain white cotton t-shirt as I think this is the best fabric to use for children. I used digital print for the design and used wonder webb to attach in to my t-shirt. I love the contrast of the plain white t-shirt against the dark design. I used the metallic thread that I sampled with to create small hand stitch squares. I tried not to add to much to the sample as I didnt want to over do it and make it to busy. The embellishments I sampled with I used on this final piece and considered placement very carefully. I used 3 of the silver embellishments on the opposite side of my hand stitching. I think the embellishments work fantastic and really bring the whole design together even though they are made for leather I feel my thinking outside the box has paid off as I think this final sample is one of my best pieces of work so far. The colour palette and careful placement consideration is to a professional standard of work and my main consern was making sure my final designs were fit for purpose which I feel I have defiantly achieved with this piece of work.

This is my second final design which is another t-shirt for boys. I died a plain white cotton t-shirt to this pale grey colour using procium dye. The design which is a digital print again I attached to the t-shirt using wonder webb. I used the metallic thread again and hand stitched this unique pattern which I got the idea from my previous sample work. The time and consideration I have put into this collection of clothing I feel you can see from the final products. I wanted to create a collection which is fresh and modern and I feel I have most defiantly achieved this goal. I wanted to create work that was progressive and to a higher standard of professionalism than in previous designs. I feel this aim has been achieved and i'm very proud of the outcomes of my final collection. The end result has been very rewarding. I hope my hard work and determination will be recognised during the final show of my work.

This is my third piece of a four piece t-shirt collection. The top image is applique' and hand stitch work with embellishment running up the left hand side of the t-shirt. I left this t-shirt again plain white as there is quite a lot of delicate hand stitch work I feel wouldn't been seen if the t-shirt wasn't plain white. I created two mirror images of the same design and sewed into them using the metallic thread I have used for both other t-shirts to keep it a running theme through my collection of designs. I really like the unique hand stitch I have used and feel its very fit for purpose and appropriate for the market place. I feel there was a gap in the market for new contemporary boys wear even in high end fashion. I think I have filled this niche in the market with my on trend collection of t-shirts. Its something which I would have never imagined designing at the start of this project but I have learnt so much from the beginning of my research all the way through to my final products. I feel the inspiration I have gained from relevant research and design development will help me through my third year of this art and design course. My collection of final t-shirts shows knowledge and understanding that I have realised commercially viable art and design products to a standard required for practice. I plan to show my work and achievements through a professional display of work alongside the other student's final major projects.
