I was trying out a different brighter metallic thread for this sample and I defiantly think this is the thread I will use for my final t-shirts its effective and very eye catching. I think this type of texture and stitch will be appealing to a child as its bright but also contemporary. This sort of hand stitch is something I wouldn't usually use which is why it is perfect for my finals I wanted to step outside my comfort zone for this project and try something different. I am really pleased with the design development and how much it has come on since I first started sampling. This design looks professional and the placement is thoughtful. The contrast between the metallic thread and the dark fabric work very well alongside each other.

I tried out the same style stitch using a blue thread against the dark fabric which I feel doesn't look as fresh and professional as the metallic thread. I'm pleased I tried out a lot of different colours alongside different techniques and processes throughout my sample work which has helped me define what I want to use for my final products. I think for this product I have looked at so many different techniques which I could use and can see what works well and what isn't suitable for the market place and the gap in the market in which I feel my designs can fill. I want to show what I have learnt throughout this 2 year course and how much I have achieved through in depth research into the market place alongside thorough understanding of art and design in terms of purpose.

This sample was a heat transfer print on plain white fabric. I decided to add some hand stitch and metallic thread. I used small beads with longer black beads to embellish into the sample. I really like the bronze coloured beads on this sample they stand out and contrast with the plain print. I think adding bigger black beads works very with and brings the sample together. I think this kind of embellishment would be to feminine to be used for my clothing collection.

This was one of my favourite samples I liked the plain background with the dark applique and metallic thread. Its eye catching and different. I plan to take this sample into my final collection developing the stitch slightly and maybe adding some embellishments which I have looked at. The small pieces of leather look really effective. I was trying out different stitch techniques to see what would be suitable for my final piece of work. I dont think the French knots work wel and again are to feminine for a boys clothing range.
